An oldie but a goodie!! Happy Holidays y'all!!
Chandrea's baby blanket is just about done!! Blocks are blocked, this is my pattern, now I just gotta herringbone stitch the bitches together. 1 down...
This is Backyard Leaves from Scarf Style. I started it for myself just a little while ago. I'm not making any knitted gifts this year, and though it may be a bit selfish, I'm just tired of promising gifts and delivering late. It's not fair, and I figure I'd rather surprise them in the middle of the year when I can knit with less pressure. Also, being an entertainer (wow, I just called myself an "entertainer"), December SUCKS for time to get shit done.
This is a kit I bought from one of the Stanford Knit-Witters. She's trying to get a little yarn thang going and I thought it was my duty to support all yarn ho's such as myself. This is 2 hanks of a Berocco wool/acrylic blend. I love dem colors! I don't get as much time to spend with the knit-witters anymore. Apparently being in the Medical Center kind of sets me apart from most of the other knitters on campus, and if I actually did join them from time to time, it would take me 15 minutes to get there, 20 minutes to knit, and I'd have to get back to my desk. Not much quality time. Anyway, the pattern it came with is pretty simple, so I've decided to do something else with it. I'm thinking a feather and fan scarf. All this time, I've never knit a feather and fan pattern. So, perfect opportunity.
So, this past Sunday, the Choral Project sang at Chateau Julien. A beautiful winery in Carmel-by-the-Sea. For about 5 years now, we've been in cahoots with the winery for their "Holiday Spectacular" where we sing, and the people drink, and after the concert we get to drink too!! Whee! I love this gig. It really is true. Our conductor always says "It's not really the holidays until we do this concert". I have to agree. I feel more holiday-y (uh...er...whatever).
Anyway, Here are some pics of the Chai where we sang. It's so awesome. I like to think that our singing has an effect on their wine and in some way makes them age much more happily...but that's my own personal delusion. It's a nice delusion though.
So, there it is. I'm all caught up...I think...
