Before I get to the scarves, the fun part:
This is the yarn I'll be using to make Big Blue for my friend/bass player Mr. RD. I promised him a sweater last year for Christmas. So after he picked out the pattern...the pattern that I have to reverse engineer (Jared said he might have the pattern by the end of the year, but I can't wait) we picked out his yarn. This new from Rowan British Sheep Breeds yarn. This is Dark Grey Welsh. I could never wear it, but it's wonderful to knit with. It doesn't scratch me, but I put it against my arms, and it's all oogie boogie. Knits up beautifully, and the fabric is all bouncy. So, I get to knit for a very beloved friend AND totally get the opportunity to notch up the knitting skills as well. Thankfully, Sandi will be available to help me out. WHEW!!!
Now the scarves:
Newest on the needles, a scarf I promised my sister in law. She saw me putting the finishing touches on a scarf for my niece and she said she wanted one like it. Well, since I made the scarf for my niece particularly for my niece (and I know this is weird), I wasn't too keen on repeating the pattern so soon. Don't get me wrong, I love my SIL, but I wanted to do something different. So, I did this:
Classic feather and fan with Noro Aurora, colorway #9, #9, #9.
I think the colors will do her justice, and it's pretty neat lookin'...
Finished my brother's My So Called:
My friend's Diagonal scarf:
And I finally wove in the ends to my Lace Ribbon!!
Yay me.
I've got about 2 feet on the feather & fan for the SIL, and have the arm pain to show for it. I'll be taking a break for a few days.
<<sigh>>
