Socks and such...

Well, I finished a pair of "vanilla" socks for my bro.  Made with STR Raven color (can't for the life of me remember, but it's got some reds and beige-y tones) size 12's!  Dude...I almost ran out of yarn.  I'll have to remember that should his gargantuan son want socks.  I don't have pics yet, because I'm scared of storing anything else in my computer right now.  I believe it's going to blow.  It's a very old mac, and needs to be replaced, but that will have to wait until I get my payments back in order.  I want the new MacBook, pre-bundled with Aperture, FCPro Express and Logic 8...I really want the Logic, but I figure, I might as well be prepared to shoot my own videos and shit.  Anyway...its now a question of "How bad do I want it?"

That's an easy question to answer.  I want it bad enough that I'm putting myself on some strict budget and card paying plans that'll get my butt back in gear and get me a new MacBook just after x-mas...if I'm lucky.  But, I want that bitch, and I want it bad...

So, I'll see if I can squeeze another photo or two into the ol' computer there, and see what happens.

I'm still working on Big Brown (yes, I know it's actually "Big Blue" but I'm making it in brown, so there...) and hopefully finish that in the coming weeks. I'm now putting the touches on my 2nd to last scarf Backyard Leaves (ravelry link).  So We'll see how that works. After I finish this scarf, I have exactly 4 things on the needles.  One is a lace scarf from Fiddlesticks, the other is Big Brown, and a cable pullover I've put off making until I started losing weight...which I am...which means...I can probably start it up again.  W00t!! and the last is a pair of gloves for my very demanding niece.

But I need to have at least 3 more things on the needles...I'm thinking more socks.

Hey, it’s good to see you again, on the platform waiting for the train to go home. I remember when we first met, you were working on a cabled sweater for yourself. It was really cool. I changed seats so we could talk. It was nice for a while until you started asking me questions and then wouldn’t let me answer without you having to interject something on the subject as if you hadn’t had a chance to speak. But you just asked me a question, dude. Huh. Kind of “whatevs” at first, but the entire trip…to the end of the line, by then, I was ready to be done with you. And thankfully, for about a week or so, that was true. Now you’re here waiting for the same train to go home and feel the need to come up to me while I’m putting the last few rows on my sister-in-law’s scarf which I was working on last time we met (which I finished last night. FO, Whoo!!). You didn’t have your knitting. Ok. So, does that automatically give you license to fucking dissect my ‘throwing’ technique by saying “Throwing is such a waste of time”.

I don’t remember you introducing yourself as Lily Chin or some other authority on speed knitting, but then I don’t think even the authorities on the subject would put down my knitting technique, since I’m not knitting for speed. So, who the holy hell do you think you are you (insert insult of your choice, becuase if I do it, i’m going to cause some serious flak) son of a bitch??!!??

Thankfully, the train came and I made sure to board enough ahead of you to know you wouldn’t have the opportunity to sit ANYWHERE near me. “Have a nice day”! I said as I boarded.
