Hello blogland,
It's been a while, I know. But such myriad things have been going on. Also, I've just become lazy about blogging. I have 3 of them after all, and can hardly keep them straight. But that's another topic.
Where to start: Well, in the world of knitting...there has been little. As from my previous post, there is still the sweater that needs finishing. I have tore up the little shawlette I was making as a replacement for the scarf literally STOLEN from my sister in law, and spinning? Let's just not go there, shall we. None to report as of yet.
On the other hand, I'm moving this weekend. ugh...This will be my 3rd move in 5 years. It's a good thing I don't have a lot of stuff. But I'm also moving into a place that will pretty much allow me to collect a lot of shit, as I save $365/month on rent. Whoa, Nellie!! That means: I get to get my credit score looking decent again, I may be able to splurge a lot more often on some unnecessary fiber goodness...you know, for stash! And be able to go out with my friends on occasion when I want to instead of crying poverty. Hell, I may even be able to take some friends to dinner! Of course, I'll cry poverty for the first few months just to be sure I'm on the right track. It's all good though. 'Sall good.
Taxes have been good to me this year and will afford me enough money to actually put towards a new desktop. Free and clear. I love it. Thankfully, I know about 5 people who work @ Apple (yay discounts) and another 3 or 4 who are self proclaimed "Mac Geniuses". So, I'm in good hands. I'm looking to get my iMac bundled with Logic (music recording) and Aperture (pics) possibly iWork. We will see. I'll get a good deal either way. Discounts are discounts.
Kung Fu: Wow. I'm in love. I love this stuff, and I just love it. Bonus for personally knowing my instructors, but that never gets in the way of the technique...well. Ok, we have fun, but I've learned a lot and apparently am continuing to learn and it's awesome. This is part of my fitness regimen and it's working. About every 3-4 months I hit another "hurdle" as it were, and I totally wear myself out and find myself able to do more things. And I remember more things too. Go figure. Now, for the diet. Raw. Methinks it's time to bite the bullet. Most recent "duh" quote I heard lately is from a post at Zen Habits. I like this blog. Really neat and insightful and I end up reminding myself of ways to try and live more zen-like. 'Taint easy. Anyway, from the post called "The One Deadly Sin of Changing Habits", the author offers this little gem:
The One Deadly Sin of Habit Change?
Not doing the habit.
How much more "duh" do you need. So, therein lies my ass-kicking. I have made small moves toward the raw life, which remind me of how much I really do love veggies, and salads and nuts, seeds and other raw living ingredients. Now, it's time to make the small moves bigger. I've been juicing quite consistently for about a month. Now that I'm moving to a studio with no kitchen (House owned by SIL so I can use the kitchen), it'll be a challenge. I know there are plenty of things I can have without worrying about pots and pans etc., but there will be a period of adjustment. C'est la vie, oui? Or is it "non" in this instance. Meh.
